I don't think that your soul is your personality. That just sounds too simple. When its said that a person has no soul it doesn't just mean they don't have a personality. Soul music isn't about personality. Its about a deeper truth.

Personalities can be faked. I think your soul is more like the real spirit that's formed in embryonic stage. Your deeper self maybe. Before you became corrupted and contrived. That just seems more appropriate to me when you think about how the word is used. Its something thats pure and innocent. Almost like your default factory setting before you became used and abused by living life.

again, this is just my interpretation after thinking about it more.
