Bit of a belated reply but I noticed you are from Ireland. I could see why a thread titled "Should Ireland Return to British Rule?" would annoy someone in Ireland because Ireland got its independence less than a hundred years ago. If the internet existed in the 19th century a thread like this would get a lot of negative feedback from Americans. But it's been well over 200 years since the US got independence and time heals all wounds. So much has happened since then. On the other hand, I'm still trying to get over the British torching the White House, though. I haven't forgiven them yet.
