The Stones had three years of great material, plenty of filler, and they have been a cabaret act ever since. The Beatles released countless classic studio albums - with singles - over a very short space of time with each album showing a phenomenal progression. How many other bands have their last albums counted as their best?

The Stone's attempt at psychedelia was as hillarious as The Beatles smashing it to pieces and turning the game around again by releasing a blank covered White Album devoid of a single psychedelic song. Even Lennon wrote after the Beatle's demise of how dissapointed he was in them nicking so much of what they done.

I like The Rolling Stones but that like doesn't really extend beyond Best Of terms. Even other bands at the time like Floyd were so artistically far away from them and so much better at progression that Jagger would need a Hubble telescope to see the creative end of David Gilmour's arse.

So yeah The Beatles.
