I don't consider them expansions, but I bought a magazine [made by Rockstar] in April '08 before GTA IV was out and it said on the first page that Vice City and San Andreas were only expansion packs.

It's being built up as GTA V by pretty much everyone - although I get your point Stu; if it's released as 'Grand Theft Auto [city]' then it won't be that bad.
I just don't want 'Grand Theft Auto IV cityname'.
Everytime I see the IV logo I feel repulsed and turned of at even playing it.

I did originally get the impression that it'd be a 5th era but looking into it the 3rd era went on for 6 years so to end this one after only 3 would kind of be a waste.
The only stand alone game we've had from this series so far [im not including TLAD & BOGT] is that **** Nintendo Chinatown Wars thing that no one even cares about.
Thats why I think they're going to come out with some epic new game to help finish this era off first. Its not going to be 'GTA 4: City Name' or set in Libertiy City [again], it'll just be a new game like SA was but included as part of the GTA 4 series.
