It tells me a different story that the writers obviously didn't have a clue. I'm no expert on writing and creating characters for a story, however common sense tells me that if you're planning on introducing a new family, surely those plans would include at least 6 months (even 12) of stories/ideas where the new family is going to fit in.
I never understood why Corrie created the Morton's then after a month not really have a clue what direction they were planning which lead to the axing of the whole family.

Indeed, they built this family up and had storylines planned for them then scrapped it all of a sudden

They have obviously reviewed how storylines are written from now on because there has been lots of behind the scenes changes at Hollyoaks HQ
