Apart from costing C5 money and ad space, nothing. Airing ads for an extra week isn't going to increase viewers, else, why even start now? They could've been advertising since they struck the deal back in April or whenever.
That way they'd be advertising for months and 10 million people would tune in!

I never would say advertise from April as thats just overkill but its on in less than a month now so these 5 second flashes would be nice to wet everyones appetite
You're argument about wasting advertising space does not really sit as these are merely 5 second flashes.
How do you know it wont increase viewers anyway lol the chances are it will as viewers will be in the know about the show coming on thats just common sense.
