Well that's just ridiculous. I think last years X Factor went up to something crazy like 20m viewers at one point with an average of 11m to 16m per show - Big Brother averaged 2.6m. Airing Big Brother at the same time as The X Factor is the worst possible thing they could do, the ratings could easily drop to below 1m.

While us TiBBers here might prefer Big Brother over The X Factor, the majority of Britain is different and prefers the XF. As crazy as it might sound to us, it's true! They need to avoid the X Factor as much as possible if they want to pull in some decent viewing figures.
