I mean in 2002 - 2008 you wouldn't be able to turn your head in a News Agents without seeing BB plastered over the papers.

You hit the nail on the head there. It was the biggest show without a doubt but other shows came along and did it diffferently and infinately better. The BB producers were complacent they thought they could sit back and ride on the past success. They were wrong things move very quickly in TV land and a prime show quickly becomes an also ran when there is no inovation merely repetition which is where BB stalled. I doubt Endemol as a production company can turn this round they got lucky with BB but they clearly lacked the skills to develop the show to keep it cutting edge and it wll continue to decline.
