The Smackdown Vs. Raw series has had the same core gameplay for years now. It gets a new roster and some new match types every year along with some mundane aesthetic or mechanical tweaks to what is the same game. Same as with Call Of Duty, really.
It's Modern Warfare 2.5, fo'sho, but Activision is a business and this will sadly outsell plenty of other AAA titles this year
combined. And whilst I do think the trend will end eventually the series has been getting bigger and bigger every single year.
When Modern Warfare 4 or COD : Gulf Warz or whatever comes out I expect it will sell buckets too. With Tony Hawk you could see the demise coming for years. With this? I don't know.
