Just a week after it was the Mirror reported that Katie was happy with her new beau Leandro Penna, the source insists that she's hoping to try and sort things out with her ex to plead for a second chance.
The source continued: "She's made a huge effort to make him feel comfortable around her again, and all he's ever wanted is a normal relationship with the kids so he's kind of going along with it.
"Now she has plans for a massive get-together with all her family there too. Pete's wary as it's a big step and could be extremely awkward if Leandro is still around.
"But she's bombarding Pete with texts asking if they can meet in secret and 'talk'. She just wants him to give her another chance."
