Vandalising an individual's personal property is considered to be criminal damage. On the outside, Jay could have been prosecuted. In no way, shape or form is it justified. He should have been ejected from the house for that.
A prank is one thing, malicious damage is another, and Jay is just a spiteful, aggressive thug, a cowardly one at that when he couldn't even take ownership of what he'd done. It's not really that much of a surprise to me that a lot of people who support this neanderthal can't see the difference
