A FEMALE teenage wrestler from Tamworth is one of 14 people from across the UK to be selected to enter the Big Brother household for the 2011 TV show.
Faye Palmer, aged 19, entered the famous house on Friday night and will compete to be the last remaining housemate to win a £100,000 cash prize.
Her big sister Jemma Palmer, who saw TV fame when she starred as Inferno in Gladiators, spoke to the Herald this week – and said Faye had kept the news a secret from the family.
“The first I knew she was in the house was when I saw her on TV walking on the catwalk. She hadn’t said anything about it at all,” Jemma said.
“She told me she had gone to do some modelling, so when I saw her on TV it was a big shock.”
Faye is a competitive wrestler whose professional name is Darcy Steele. She has dedicated her life to the career after leaving university.
Jemma continued: “I think she’s getting on really well at the moment, but it’s hard to stand out as a massive personality with so many people in the house.
“I think she will have a right laugh. She has always wanted to do the show, from when she was young.
“Finally she’s in there. I hope she has a really good time.
I’m really jealous of her. I wish I was in there too!”
On her first night inside the house she was rubbing shoulders with surprise celebrity guest and Hollywood star Pamela Anderson.
But this week it was revealed she had an “emotional nomination session” in the Diary Room.
Her party tricks range from turning her tongue upside down to impersonating accents from around the worlds.
And Faye also describes herself as “the kind of person that girls would despise and boys would drool over”. She thinks she will be nominated for being a picky eater and for being too much of a joker.
Jemma said:
“I’m watching her all the time, on the TV and the internet.
“She’s really down to earth. I hope she stands up for herself in the house.
“But if anyone is nasty to her in there, I will go in and sort them out.”
