Scarface is a story about an immigrant who comes to America and rises through the ranks of a dirty city to reach the top, when he reaches the top, the people he pissed on and stood on come back to get revenge, sound familiar? Scarface is the reason why Grand Theft Auto exists, once of the best known and best selling games, also one of the most popular entertainment franchises to come out of the UK (Scotland).
Scream gave us Scary Movie and and bunch of other crap spoofs.
Yeah, Scream was definately the most influential, quote Scary Movie and see how many people know what you're talking about, quote Scarface and everyone knows what you are talking about.
If you want a defining and influential slasher, at least go for Psycho, Halloween or Friday the 13th.
