They've got their act together and are benefitting from there being acts who still haven't pulled off a good performance, the fact that the producers and judges want them to do well and the fact that so far, to my knowledge, none of them have had a story sold on them. In the past few years you've had Hope (who had bad press), Miss Frank (who really didn't get their act together in time), Bad Lashes (didn't get it together), Girlband (bad attitude), Kandy Rain (bad press)... The show has clearly wanted to launch a big girl band for quite some time, as is evident by Simon Cowell's championing of Hope a few years ago, so I think they've been trying to get it right for a few years now. They put Bad Lashes and Girlband through and clearly hoped one of them would secure the girl band vote from the public but neither did; and then with Kandy Rain and Miss Frank they picked two opposites in the hope that one (presumably Miss Frank) would do well and that didn't happen either. I hope they do well, E.T. was a really good performance!
