Don't get me wrong, it's well documented here that I am not a Jay fan. But Jay was doing it for a joke as vile as it is - Louise sanctioned it and thought it was 'the most romantic thing a man's ever done'. Even Jay was shocked by that. I would hate to live with Louise, she probably doesn't wash her fingers after she's been to the bog!
