Interesting Feefs! It did take them a long time to move in, if we believe the first reports in heat of their purchase.
I think they mum's are working to protect both of them. I think you could be right, because Helen is a vulnerable and impressionable girl, and Helen's mum is trying to protect her now she's out from under her wing. I think she has recognised that Paul is a benevolent, paternalistic type who will see it as his duty to look after her.
I have just watched Helen's drunken ramblings and Paul's reaction on Brian's Birthday. I was surprised how little worth Helen ascribed to herself in her relationship with Big G.
Paul warned her how vunerable and open to exploitation she was, and evidently forgave her for her outrageously vulgar outbursts, when he is really a little bit proper himself!
In the wrong relationship, Helen could easily be a victim. I think that although Paul's attitudes and behaviour might not sit well with someone like Amma or Elizabeth, he is ideal for Helen. He will be a little controlling, but she does need that, and would seek it from any man. The plus is that he is also very kind and gentle. Oh, and he's bloody gorgeous!
So, Lizzie and Jenny have worked their spells. Let's hope they can influence the Boy Wonder to stop dithering and talking about 'at this moment', and just seal the deal!
We deserve it! God knows we've kept the faith when others stumbled. I have a hat that needs to be worn. Ask Miriam and peachy, they've seen the evidence.
Feefs, what did that croissant comment mean, cos, I know I fick, but it's like, square, in't it? I hope you are suggesting nothing improper n'est pas? After all, the pavement cafe' prices are a 'scandale absolut', and they probably thought it prudent to share.
