Hm! never thought of BB-UK as a popularity contest but yep, i think that's what it was intended to be and still is largely. I think all this talk about it's a game-show came about as a reason for liking someone thoroughly unlikable, we all love the bad guy after all.
Gonna miss BBUK if it morphes into BBUS.
