Big Brother spin-off shows have always been like that though, well, this and Big Mouth. It's awkward humour really, I'm sure other shows similar do the same thing as well.

Besides, most things on BB end up in awkward situations. One example I could think of would be when Davina/Russell would've asked/joked about 'jacuzzi gate' with Makosi and Anthony probably in front of their parents.

That's just my take on it anyway. Yeah it's a big awkward, but I'm sure he'll get over it, it's what the show's about.
