they critisize the US and UK more because they trust us, they know us, we have a long history of diplomatic relations. They have to appease the rogue states because they are rogue states.
Just look at America and Russia how we trade spies with each other sometimes. We do it responsibly, they catch our spies, we catch their spies, we release them back and forth and it all goes smoothly, and we both laugh about it afterwards.
Would you feel more comfortable criticizing your best friends and family to their face? or criticize a stranger to their face?
Obviously you can talk more honestly with the people you trust more because you know that you can always resolve it. If you piss off a stranger, you have no idea what they will do.
I'd much rather get into a fight with someone i know well, than get into a fight with someone i don't know anything about. you don't know if they have a gun or a knife, or if they will call your boss, they could do anything to totally ruin your life. But if you get in a fight with someone you have a relationship with, you know that eventually you can resolve it.
