Whenever I'm depressed I try and get out and do something, normally jogging or some sort of exercise in my case. Exercise always does the trick for me and clicks me out of that state of mind. It seems to me that a big problem with depression is it makes us a bit apathetic and it makes us not want to do anything about it, like a vicious circle.

I sort of agree with what you said liv, I'm not sure how much 'pull yourself together' helps, but it depends on the person and the timing. I've been through phases in my life where I need to be gently pursuaded and others phases where I needed a good firm slap round the face
