I wonder why you refer to him as a "girl"? Plus, what does him being Welsh have to do with anything?
A bit of double bigotry methinks.
Also, you've missed the point. Yes, he does realise people change with drink. That's kind of the reason why he thinks they should calm down with it. He has a point.
