Maybe the correct word would be arrogant. I personally just don't like the way they talk about different people and the way they see themselves as superior to others (and some of the things they say are mean). I'm all for people being proud and content about themselves but for some reason their way just rubs me the wrong way. It's nothing personal towards them though but I just don't like some personality traits they have. I suppose I would take their confidence better if they complimented other people as well but since they're not doing that, it turns into arrogance.
