I didn't know about that, but even so, producers would rather overestimate the demand and turn people away knowing they've got a full audience than underestimate it and have empty space. It's probably less of a challenge for them to fill the 'boxed in' setup.

The Express pointed out that the stage The Voice has booked at the GLS is actually bigger than the studio Simon Cowell uses for his shows... I was rather surprised by that
