I was just about to post these lot in the Euro 2012 ratings thread but I may as well post them here as well:
England's devastating Euro 2012 exit was seen by over 23 million viewers last night (Sunday, June 24)), overnight data shows.
Coverage of the quarter-final between England and Italy averaged 17.37m (62.3%) for BBC One between 7pm and 10.45pm, peaking with 23.2m (77.4%) for the penalty shoot-out.
Whoever appears to labour to understand the above is either taking the piss or genuinely ignorant and oblivious to the rudiments of how viewing figures work.
Interest in the football affected the other terrestrial channels, as Channel 5's Once Upon a Time (776k/2.5%) and Big Brother (775k/2.5%) both sunk to all-time lows.
It amazes me how ill-informed and ridiculous people can be - it's staggering. Then again, I have a feeling this thread was just done for attention.
