The 'banter' justification truly is a load of wank. In quite plain English, a typical dictionary defines banter as:
(1) Good-humored, playful conversation.
(2) To speak to in a playful or teasing way.
(3) To exchange mildly teasing remarks.
None of Conor's remarks fall under that classification and it is
very worrying that someone would even have the audacity to justify what happened yesterday night.
