I suspect that psychologists would say it was the definition of passive aggressive. You see that kind of thing in the Sopranos and the Godfather movies. The ganmgsters often physically display affection but do it in a way that leaves the other person in no doubt as to who is the more physically intimidating. That's definitely how I saw it.

I think it's just Conor thinking he's smarter than he actually is - AGAIN.

But, to be fair, that might not be what was intended. Nonetheless if I was a producer, I'd be having an off-air chat with Conor, just to tell him the incident was noted. That way you wouldn't be unfair to the oaf by broadcasting something that painted him in an untrue light. But, if he did mean to threaten, you would be letting him know that you saw it for what it was, and wouldn't put up with any more of it.
