The closing moments of the episode did feel rather transitional for her, and the lack of make-up brought a nice aesthetic touch of additional genuineness to her sadness and resolution in the DR, and her reconciliation with Ashleigh. Conor's sympathy feels a tad strategic as well, almost as if he would rather keep her pigeonholed in the victim box rather than see a stronger Deana emerge, though that could just be me being a cynical swine ...
