They get paid £30 a day while in the house to cover living costs like mortgage/rent and council tax etc. its pretty poor pickings really to think that a finalist would only get paid around £2100 which also explains why the show generally (apart from 2-3 housemates per series) is full of scummy thug chavs and little brats born with a silver spoon in their mouths ie people with no responsibility in life.
