I have been to Tunisia many times - namely the resort of Sousse. It is extremely hot at this time of year. Always drink bottled water, even brush your teeth with bottled water. also as it is the Holy month of Ramadan many cafes will only be open for short periods of time. Tunisian people, in general, are friendly but do be prepared to be stopped and asked for dinars. Since the revolution many more people have become unemployed (hotels closing etc) than there was already. Livia's advice is spot on but do be aware of young men on their own - as sometimes a normal 'hello' greeting can be taking the wrong way. Have a good time and I am also 96% jealous.
