A lot of this is just a part of it limiting it's audience to younger people. It's about making it more childish, getting in contestants who are very young in their minds and have little of interest to say. People are either put in for their looks or just to show how stupid they are Even the Australian one is slightly better, certainly Layla, George and maybe Ray and Ryan have little to them but the others actually aren't that stupid and dull. In the British one we get maybe 4 a series at the most on CH5 who aren't thick.
Also the producers are lazy. The Tree of Temptation was a success but then they started to overuse the concept. Individual competitions for important rewards (immunity) are used very successfully in the American concept and I thought made for a more interesting mix in BB11. Ultimately you have to be tougher on HMs if it's a social experiment, and acknowledge that HMs do want to win at the end by making them fight for immunity in a regular challenge.
