TiBB's Amazing Race is a forum game (based on the reality show) in which ten teams of two people, compete against each other in a race 'around the world'. Teams strive to arrive first at the end of each round of a race by completing tasks to avoid coming in the bottom two. Being in the bottom two carries the possibility of elimination or a significant disadvantage in the following leg, as the safe teams have to decide who to send home.
The tasks will be related directly or loosely to the country or continent of location or its culture. Teams are progressively eliminated until three are left; at that point, the team that arrives first in the final leg is awarded the crown.
Below are the tasks that we have planned for the game, each will take place within one main thread so as the whole race, from the very start to the bitter end, is all nice and neatly in one place. Teams that finish first in a round will have an advantage in the following round by getting a half an hour head start with the task. Those that finish in the bottom two will then be put against the remaining teams who will cast one vote to eliminate between each team (both team members must agree on their choice).
If at any point more than two teams fail to complete a race the two teams who were furthest behind will be the teams who face the bottom two. And if votes between bottom two are tied the slower of the teams will be sent home.
Round 1: Eritrea - Eritreating me right?
40 questions about Eritrea will be posted, the teams must find all correct answers and return them to us. If any answers are incorrect/missing the team will be told and they must try again. The last two teams to get the correct answers will face the first elimination.
Round 2: Japan - This is so Japaneasy!
Photos of 50 Japanese characters will be posted. The teams must name 35 of them in the quickest time possible to avoid being in the bottom two. The first team to reach 20 will be able to put a 'U-turn' onto one team which will see the chosen team lose five of their answers which they cannot use at all and have to in turn get another five answers.
Round 3: Fiji - Island Hopping
Being an island nation like Fiji is great as they were some of the last places to be discovered. So for this round you will be discovering the islands yourselves. Flags of all island nations will be hidden some where across the forum on members wall as a wall message. The aim is to find 10 of these flags and to avoid being the last two to do so.
Round 4: Antarctica - My balls are a tad chilly
The teams will have a snowball each and must throw it to each other over the course of 24 hours. The teams need to achieve catching the snowball 100 times between them, however they must be holding the snowball for at least 5 minutes before throwing it and they must not hold it for longer than 15 minutes or the snowball will melt and they must start again from 0.
To throw the snowball to their team mate they must post a photo of their snowball.
Round 5: Chile - Sacar la mugre
1. Cazuela de Vacuno
2. Pastel de Choclo
3. Palta Reina
4. Cola de Mono
5. Chancho en Piedra
6. Empanadas Fritas de Queso
7. Cazuela de Vaca
8. Pisco Sour II
9. Pebre
10. Arrollado de Chancho
The teams have to search for the ingredients for these meals (we will provide the exact recipe), with the team spending the least money in the quickest time winning. The team which finds the ingredients the quickest will have £8.50 deducted from the figure they spent, thus putting them at an advantage. Ingredients bought for one recipe cannot be used a subsidiary for another, ingredients can only be bought from somewhere once and all links to where they found these ingredients and the cost.
During this round the first team to find all ingredients for Cola de Mono will be given a detour card. They may choose at the time to detour one team by giving them ten new meals to find ingredients for (meaning that team will have to start all over again).
Round 6: Mexico - Tequila Mockingbird
The players are to make a lethal tequila cocktail (tequila mockingbird), but to do so need to know how many bottles of each tequila to place in the pot. They will be presented with six soduku puzzles which they must complete for each type of tequila. Each puzzle will have one square highlighted yellow, the correct number that goes there will be the answer for the amount of that tequila.
Round 7: Denmark - Catching The Bacon
Over the course of the next 24 hours teams will be required to catch the bacon. Each hour 10 pigs will be released into the 'wild' at ten points in time of that hour.
To catch their bacon the teams will post 'catching me some bacon' at the time they think a pig will be released (so if Team A thinks a pig will be released at 7.05am, they must post 'Catching me some bacon' when the time is 7.05am). If two teams go for the same time, the team who posted first will earn the pig.
The times that the pig will be released will be pre-determined, and the pigs will not be released in sight, so the players are having to pick their times carefully.
The aim is to get 30 pigs. The slowest two teams to achieve this will face the bottom two.
Round 8: Italy+Greece - Acta est fabula
The remaining three teams will compete in two legs of the final race. The first leg will see the teams given a document in Latin which they must translate to find five clues about five Italian works of art. They must then locate where these works of art are in Italy. The last team to do so will be automatically eliminated from the race. The final two teams will then be given a manuscript in Greek which they must translate and work out the 6 ancient gods that are described from the clues. The first team to get all six correct answers is the overall winners of the game!
