I like it Niall, but one thing that's probably just a personal gripe with me - I don't like sentence fragments
(for example just saying 'No.' in the narrative)... it's something I slip into quite often on here because we're all chatty, but when writing it can feel like you're reading a diary rather than literature
Other than that, I found it really interesting and well done on pursuing this
