Default Jeff Wayne's The War of The Worlds (The New Generation)

The 'new generation' version of the classic sci-fi 1978 album has now been released featuring a new cast and new interpretations of the original tracks.

Liam Neeson has taken on the role of the Journalist/narrator, originally played by Richard Burton.

Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson plays the Artilleryman, which was originally David Essex's role.

Gary Barlow replaces Justin Hayward...

and the album also features Joss Stone (Julie Covington's role) and Maverick Sabre (Phil Lynott).

Has anybody listened to it yet? Songs like Forever Autumn seem to keep relatively true to the original, but I am not sure about the rest I have heard. Liam Neeson isn't a patch on Richard Burton in my opinion.

Thoughts?
