Yeah I agree, really. Corrie's a really good example of a show that has a well-established cast, some of whom have been present since the show's inception. The only real "legendary" characters we have now are Dot (who is becoming increasingly irrelevant), Phil (completely wasted) and Sharon (who's in bed with Jack and popping pills). The fact that three-quarters of the cast are all deadwood who just need to go doesn't exactly aid the situation either.
I just think they need to bring in an entire cast of new characters - and properly, not having them all leave and replaced by crap within a month (in the case of 2006, which was a pretty disastrous year for the show). We haven't really had any strong new characters since Ronnie and Roxy of 2007 - and even they have been turned crap in recent years.
