#80 - "The One", Twin Shadow
Imagine Prince covering 'Close to Me', but letting Antony Hegarty do the vocals. Amazing.
#79 - "Night Light", Jessie Ware
Sleek, cool, sexy, poppy, amazing.
#78 - "Circumambient", Grimes
Right from the opening crackle, an enigmatic, slick production and brilliant song.
#77 - "m.A.A.d. city", Kendrick Lamar
Just a mindblowingly good demonstration of his rapping abilities. Not my favourite of the album, but we'll get to that later...
#76 - "Trouble", Leona Lewis
Whilst her songwriter was going mental trying to irritate as many people as possible with her public appearances, Leona herself was busy getting into the twenty first century. She puts her powerful vocals on hold here and lets a modern, great production envelop her.
#75 - "DoYaThing", Gorillaz, James Murphy and Andre 3000
Pretty much only here because of Andre's verse. Very funky and fun, though.
#74 - "Cyan", Kindness
Speaking of funk. Not a great album, but someone to look out for in the future.
#73 - "Wasted Days", Cloud Nothings
Few bands can make an indie rock track just under 9 minutes long and consistently engaging throughout.
#72 - "Grew Up at Midnight", The Maccabees
So peaceful, so lovely.
#71 - "Sun Goes Down", Icona Pop
perfect
