We did the opposite way round last year, not having been on the Irish ferry service for years, we were pleasantly surprised at the improvements to travel that has been made. It's way less stressful than going by air. No stripping to your knickers and some jobs worth telling you your plastic bag with toiletries is not the right size, and confiscating the lot.
