On the subject of reality shows I believe the book in question was
this. All that I know about reality TV shows is that I enjoy them and I don't think anything else really matters.
I've a feeling that the criticism that Big Brother and other shows from the genre come in for from the academic elite and social commentators is symptomatic of an anti-new agenda. It is always being argued that there is a place in the past that we can go to that it is better. TV just gets the same treatment.
