Peggy's gone missing this morning. She's absolutely nowhere to be found and the only possible escape route was the spare bedroom window which opens out on to a four story drop. Can kittens be that brave? Would she have survived?

I'm beside myself. I seriously can't even process it. It isn't even upsetting me or worrying me. Numb etc.

The trouble with it is if she went out that window and survived with her legs intact it's not an easy route to figure out back to our house. She went out the back of the apartment complex and to get back to our front door she will have to go up the street, into a courtyard, and around it. At least if she went out the front door it would have been easy.

I feel awful about the fact that I keep thinking "at least it's not Pat". Pat's alternating between frantic meowing and hiding under the duvet right now. Can she get over losing her sister at six months old? She seems a solitary cat who enjoys human contact so I dunno would it be best to keep her on her own or get another kitten. I feel awful [recurring theme] about even thinking this far ahead .

I'm putting it on all the Cork/Munster area animal pages and will have to print signs out tomorrow morning. That should be devastating.

Oh well. I know none of you can help find her and I don't want consolation. Maybe just similar tales and the end result?
