Celebrity Big Brother 5 recorded 3.6m viewers last night and is currently averaging 0.02m more than last year’s record breaking series.
Despite tough competition from Waking the Dead on BBC One (8.6m) and Soapstar Superstar on ITV1 (5.2m), Celebrity Big Brother still managed to find 3.6m in the ratings.
The figures keep it in line with last year’s series. Up to this point CBB4 had an average ratings of 4.35m, compared to the 4.37m CBB5 has achieved so far.
However, tonights show will have to find at least 4.2m viewers to keep the lead, an extra 600,000 viewers. Ratings have improved by about 800,000 since Saturday.
Meanwhile, last night’s episode of Soapstar Superstar was 800,000 viewers down on its performance this time last year, and its currently averaging 1.4m viewers less than the first series to this point.
