Not a huge fan of the outdoor set up so it's easier actually to highlight the best than the worst. Generally speaking the worst have been the series where they've just had a stage at the bottom of the stairs and that's it - so BB6/9/10. BB11 looks a lot better, and while BB8 wasn't perfect I kind of liked the idea and it kind of put the stage centre stage, rather than at one end of the crowd.
You've not put a picture here and I suspect many newer fans wouldn't like it but for me BB4 is the best set up they've had at Elstree as it most closely resembled what they used to have at Bow. The crowd was pulled away from the house and instead lined the route to the studio, with a huge fence between the crowd and the house which IMO gives the evictee that crucial breathing space in between leaving the house and meeting the public, space in which they were reunited with family and Davina had a quick word before guiding them through the crowd and straight into the studio.
