I totally agree. When my kids were small you could start giving them solids at 4 months, I think 6 months is along time to wait,. My niece has a 3 month old and she mentioned something about fruit before veg when weaning, or it might have been the other way round..what!!! never did any of that, they had what ever was in the fruitbowl or veg basket and nine times out of 10 they spat out what they didn't like. It's all very well bringing them up by the book but it is not very practical, and I agree alot of the time it's people with no kids of their own who have this idealistic view on having a baby.
