OMG asking questions like "Do they cook that way in India?" is as racist as me asking "Do they cook that way in Yorkshire".
Donkeylegs seems to be getting quite heated but I would like to pick up on the fact that I listed two occasions where Shilpa mocked accents (Jo and Jade's), which, being more than once surely makes that several times as well.
Look I'm not saying that picking on her isn't out of order cos they are clearly going a step to far. However, while I would never go that far I can see exactly why they don't like her cos she is very annoying. Maybe it's not her fault she's annoying; maybe it's her culture, maybe it's because she's never had to lift a finger; mabe I'm racist for saying it. Clearly a group cliquiness had developed but that always seems to happen with young ladies and while it's not fair to pick on someone for being different, I'm sure it's not racist.
The girls are merely asking questions because they are ignorant of Shilpa's culture, just as Jade is with eskimo culture, which I'm sure makes her twice as racist. The comment about putting something in Shilpa's curry, I think, referred to the fact that she always makes curry and wasn't just an Indian stereotype. Frankly, if I wanted to order some fishfingers as Danielle did and someone was telling me I couldn't and I had to eat exactly what and when she was cooking, it would start to grate after a while.
Also I would never call it "gentle jokey bullying", it is clearly more serious, and I can see things from Shilpa's point of view; it would be very hard for her to reinsert herself into the group that she appears to have been shunned by. Saying that, I still can't stand her, but my opinion may change over time. Clio even looks like she's starting to get a bit wound up with her (shopping time - Shilpa: "Clio, you and me yeah")
