**** me, how can anyone miss the point of this? It's not heterophobic, nor is it promoting or even making out that we should all live as homosexuals...it's highlighting what it's like for gay children growing up in a community where it's seen as disgusting to be gay, that it's a sin, goes against God's wishes etc etc. It's supposed to make the bible bashing homophobes that act like this see how it'd feel if they were treated like that. I honestly thought that was pretty obvious to work out about two minutes into the film.
