Sounds like your keyboard is set to US and not UK, I know everyone else has said this but my keyboard does that too every now and then. " and @ become switched, that's when I notice, I don't normally use the £ sign on my keyboard so I've never noticed if it's switched when my keyboard has turned into the US one but that's what it sounds like.
