Housemate on a task is a different kettle of fish, this is something different.
If he leaves after a few days then his purpose is redundant, staying for several weeks will make it that much more believable to the other housemates that he's a real housemate. And let's face it, there's already a huge blurred line between what's real and not on this show.
I'd say he'll leave 4-5 weeks in and be replaced by a new genuine housemate.
