I won't deny that he was an amazing character, because he was very well-written and obviously one of Lost's most prominent characters. The series wouldn't have been the same without him. I appreciate what he contributed to it.
If I remember correctly, I liked Locke up until Boone's death. Boone had been my favorite up until that point and I was looking for someone to project my anger onto, and Locke, being present at the incident, fit the bill. So it's more of just a personal grudge rather than anything against the character himself
