I didn't see any of it as sly at all, since they talked back and engaged in further conversation with him, clearly most of them didn't think that either.in fact he and Dexter, being really fair to Dexter here, got on really well and appeared to sort things out a fair bit.

What with Dan admitting that he was still trying to suss out Dexter,saying that to his face too,that is hardly being sly.
Then Dexter saying he would fancy Dan if he was gay too.If you think someone is being sly you wouldn't get that personal with them.

The problem with Dan,I think anyway,is that he cannot switch off being a Detective, clearly his training in that will likely be the stronger force in all his relationships,police are generally very suspicious people.
If he has left the Police force,I think he should consider going back to it,it is firmly in his make up,too strong a part of his personality now.

Never mind though another dig at Dan so here is another counter balance from me to that.
