Her aide defended the bizarre comments, saying Helen had not fully understood the extent of Hall's crimes.

Hall was later jailed for 15 months for 14 indecent assaults against 13 girls as young as nine.

AGAIN Helen sparked nationwide outrage when she tweeted a snap of her with a gun pressed to her head - days after 26 children and adults were shot dead in the Sandy Hook school massacre.
In the photo, the star posed in a lacy black bra and pointed a miniature pistol to her head.
Shocked parents accused her of "brainless stupidity" and a tearful Helen later apologised on breakfast telly for uploading the picture on the day many of the US victims were buried.
Speaking on Daybreak, Helen said the picture related to having a hangover and said it was the "stupidest thing I've ever done in my life."

IN March, the ex-soap star incurred the wrath of activists who claimed she was promoting anorexia after she 'liked' a photo of a thin model on Instagram.
The 22-year-old was accused of supporting a movement called 'thinspiration' when she liked the image alongside the phrase, 'Craving is only a feeling'.
Helen denied championing the stick-thin fad and claimed she was seeking diet inspiration.

Helen said she was "absolutely terrified" when she spotted a shadowy figure in her room - prompting staff to evacuate guests while they hunted for the 'intruder'.
But the pin-up was left red-faced when she realised it was her own reflection in the mirror.
