You need to stop thinking of the daily star as a newspaper and more of an advertisement for channel 5 every word spoken in that "newspaper" is designed to try and spark controversy about the show to try and get interest.
They are crap at it though and do more damage than they seem to realise.

The truth is the police couldnt give a dogs dick about dan they probably told C5 to be responsible before the series started anything else is just advertising.
