They should've been told not to, with the penalty (kept secret from them) that the entire house would see their VT's if they blabbed. There is no way Jackie would've been able to stop her self from talking to Charlie about Callum's no matter what rule was put up (same way she couldn't keep it to herself that they knew about Michael).
